XVI The Tower 

In the tarot tradition, The Tower (XVI) is the card of chaos, upheaval, and drowning in the storm. What was solid now melts, twists, and rises. Change is here to tear things down. Sometimes the best way forward is to let it all fall.

In 2019, we built The Tower as a small place of safety from chaos and upheaval in our personal lives. We knew the respite was temporary and built The Tower to burn in 2020. 

​

Between 2019 and 2022,  the world burned instead, and The Tower's message came into focus. Safety and familiarity melted.  The world we knew came tumbling down around us.

In 2022, we were able to bring the The Tower back to playa and into her full articulation. Burning The Tower was the ultimate expression of what it represents: safety going up in flames.
